3D Printing for

Aerospace Applications

high-frequency

Manufacture of PLA-BaTiO3 spheres by emulsion-solvent evaporation for use in 3D printing.

From printer to space

3D fabrication as an alternative for satellite antennas, such as the antenna deployed on the SUCHAI-3 satellite.

Antennas manufactured by 3D printing

Use of 3D printing as a manufacturing method for antenna, lens and reflector designs. Operating at high frequencies.

We are a research group formed by experts in high frequency, materials engineering, 3D printing and aerospace engineering. Our main objective is to generate interdisciplinary links with national and international universities, for the development of research in materials for 3D printing and their use in the manufacture and characterization of electronic devices for high frequency aerospace applications.

This project is in addition to a collaboration that is being developed with the School of Electrical Engineering (PUCV) through two previous projects, such as the Súmate a Innovar (CORFO), carried out in conjunction with the company Ocular 3D; and the DI in Interdisciplinary Innovation of the VRIEA-PUCV.

We have a large network of current collaborators (PUCV, UChile, UACH, UC3M, YACHAY TECH and AUBURN).
